Does this sound familiar?

Maybe you think you’re confused about everything.

You’re probably not.

You’re more capable than you’ve been giving yourself credit for. You make decisions every day. Other people may even come to you when they’re overthinking, need perspective or want someone to remind them what they already know.

But there’s one decision you keep circling.

You think about it in the shower. Revisit it while driving. Take it to the group chat. Ask what everyone else would do, then question every answer. Find one more sensible reason to wait.

And somehow, after all that thinking, you feel less clear than when you started.

Sometimes we call that confusion. Sometimes it’s self-doubt, people-pleasing or self-sabotage with very good manners.

Maybe you want to…

  • Apply for the role instead of assuming someone else is more qualified
  • Speak in the meeting before your idea feels perfectly formed
  • Share, publish or sell something you’ve been keeping to yourself
  • Ask for what you need in a relationship
  • Say no without writing an essay to justify it
  • Accept an opportunity before you feel completely ready
  • Go to the event or start the conversation even if you feel socially rusty
  • Admit that something no longer fits and decide what comes next

The situation may be different. The loop feels remarkably similar.

The thought underneath the loop

“I know what I want. I just wish I felt more confident about it.”

Confidence isn’t the starting point

What if confidence isn’t the thing you need to wait for?

You’ve probably heard Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway. It’s a classic for a reason, and one I respect.

But sometimes fear isn’t the only thing in the room.

Sometimes your inner critic has called a meeting with people-pleasing, perfectionism, overthinking, social nerves and everyone else’s expectations.

No wonder one decision starts feeling like a full-time job.

Confidence doesn’t always arrive first. Very often, it’s built afterwards, when you listen to yourself, choose and discover that you can meet what happens next.

A more useful definition
Confidence is the ability to remain connected to yourself and act from that connection while moving through uncertainty.

You don’t have to become louder, harder or more impressive. You don’t have to eliminate every doubt.

You need a way to hear yourself beneath the noise and make the next decision from there.

Self-trust becomes practical

Your brain learns from what you repeat.

One move won’t erase every doubt. It can create one fresh piece of evidence that you can listen to yourself, act and handle what comes next.

01 · EVIDENCE

Practise listening to yourself

Every time you postpone, over-check or wait for someone else to give you permission, you practise doubting your own judgement.

Every time you check in with yourself, make a considered choice and follow through, you give your brain a different experience to learn from.

02 · SELF-LOVE

This is where it gets practical

If you’ve been working on self-love or self-worth, this is where those ideas become practical.

Your worth isn’t something you have to earn by making the “right” decision. But listening to yourself, keeping a promise, setting a boundary and taking your own desires seriously are all ways of treating yourself like someone who matters.

Confidence isn’t the whole self-love journey. It’s one way self-respect becomes visible in your choices.

03 · SUPPORT

You still get to steer

You don’t have to make every decision alone. A coach, trusted friend or the right person in the group chat can lend perspective and a little borrowed confidence.

Accountability can help close the gap between what you intend to do and what you actually do. The balance is knowing when support is helping you hear yourself and when you’re quietly asking someone else to decide for you.

Ask for perspective. Borrow confidence when you need it. Keep your hands on the steering wheel.

Sometimes it really does take the courage to be disliked. Or, at least, the courage to let someone be disappointed without deciding you’ve done something wrong.

Stop talking yourself out of it

Use one real decision from your life.

MAKE THE MOVE is a focused confidence class for the woman who probably already knows what she wants, but keeps analysing, checking, postponing or looking outside herself for permission.

Together, we’ll use one choice that matters now. Not a hypothetical exercise. Not your entire five-year plan.

Your practical outcome

By the end, you will have:

  • Named the decision behind the mental noise
  • Recognised what is making the choice feel harder than it needs to be
  • Separated what you know from fear, pressure and other people’s expectations
  • Chosen a next step that respects what you want and your real-life capacity
  • Created a simple action to take within 24 hours

Confident enough is enough to start.

Confidence you can use

What changes in real life?

You don’t have to fake confidence or perform a louder version of yourself. This is confidence for the meeting, the application, the conversation, the boundary, the opportunity and the ordinary Tuesday when you finally decide.

The goal isn’t to make a perfect decision. It’s to make one you can own and move forward with.

Before
After using the process
Replaying the same options as though one might suddenly reveal a secret ending
You know what you’re deciding and what matters most
Taking it to the group chat, then questioning every reply
You can ask for support without handing over the steering wheel
Waiting for 100 percent certainty to arrive and tap you on the shoulder
You know how to move while some uncertainty is still in the room
Building a very convincing case against the thing you want
You can tell useful caution from your inner critic with a spreadsheet and a very convincing argument
Letting the opportunity quietly close while you’re still thinking
You take one proportionate step while it’s still yours to take
Promising yourself tomorrow and trusting yourself a little less each time
You follow through on one clear commitment and create evidence that you can rely on yourself

Confidence can’t guarantee the promotion, relationship, response, sale or outcome. It changes whether you participate in creating what you want and whether you keep backing yourself while you do.

Inside MAKE THE MOVE

PART 04

Make the Move

This is for you if

You’re capable. This decision just feels personal.

  • You know what you want and keep finding reasons not to act
  • You ask for reassurance, then question the reassurance too
  • You worry that choosing yourself will disappoint someone
  • You confuse being uncomfortable with evidence that the decision is wrong
  • You want self-love and self-worth to show up in how you choose, speak and act, not only in what you tell yourself
  • You want something practical, useful and possible to complete today

You’re an introvert, a deep thinker or a quiet observer who is tired of being told confidence has to look loud.

Why I created this class

I used to think confidence looked loud.

I spent years believing confidence looked more certain, more polished and more naturally fearless than I felt.

At the same time, I was leading projects, supporting teams and solving complex problems. I became the person others called when they were overthinking, needed perspective, wanted permission or had forgotten how capable they were.

I’m naturally a cheerleader. Sometimes borrowing someone else’s belief in us is exactly what helps us take the next step. We don’t have to do everything alone.

But support works best when it helps us hear ourselves. It becomes less helpful when it’s another place to hand over our judgement.

I also know what it’s like to make a decision that feels necessary and right for you while still carrying uncertainty, consequences and grief. The right choice doesn’t always arrive with instant relief.

Through years of coaching, professional leadership and my own experience of people-pleasing, perfectionism and burnout, I’ve learned that confidence was never asking me to become someone else before I was worthy, strong or allowed to back myself.

Confidence is the practice of staying connected to yourself and acting from there.

A few useful details

Frequently asked questions

What kind of decision can I use this for?

Use it for one current personal or professional decision that is safe for you to make. It might involve applying, speaking up, asking, declining, beginning, sharing, accepting an opportunity or choosing what happens next.

What if I still feel uncertain afterwards?

You don’t need to eliminate every trace of uncertainty. The class will help you understand the decision more clearly, hear your own judgement and choose a realistic next step. Confidence can exist alongside nerves and unanswered questions.

Will this tell me which decision to make?

No one knows the full context of your life better than you. This class gives you a grounded process for clearing the noise, recognising what matters and making a choice you can own. It helps you hear your judgement rather than replacing it.

Is this suitable for an overthinker?

Yes. The process stays focused on one real decision and is designed to reduce mental noise, not give you another mountain of information to analyse.

How long will it take?

Allow approximately 30 minutes for the class, plus a little time to complete your Move Map and take the next step you choose.

Is this the same as The Next Era Experience?

No. MAKE THE MOVE is a focused class for working through one immediate decision. The Next Era Experience is a broader self-led course for reflecting on the life you’re building and what you want next.

How will I access the class?

You’ll receive immediate online access after purchasing, so you can begin in your own time and return to the class whenever you need it.
